ABOUT THE ROADMENDER

The Roadmender has a rich history, starting as a youth club built in a different location before moving to its current premises in Ladys Lane in 1940. Named after the 1902 book by Michael Fairless, the club was initially established to serve the youth of Northampton’s Boroughs area. By 1937, the club had grown to nearly 400 members and relocated to Gloucester House in Far Cotton before settling in its present location.

Despite its origins, The Roadmender has always been a welcoming place for all. In the 1980s, it became a hub for community arts, offering printing, textiles, music, and theatre activities primarily for disadvantaged young people.

From the early 1980s to the late 1990s, The Roadmender was Northamptonshire’s premier music and arts center, hosting iconic bands like Radiohead, Metallica, Oasis, Travis, and the Manic Street Preachers. Although a refurbishment in 1999/2000 reduced its main hall capacity, it remains a crucial stop for touring bands.

Don’t miss your chance to experience Ferocious Dog live at The Roadmender, Northampton. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to their music, this gig promises to be a memorable night filled with powerful performances and a vibrant atmosphere.
